If your IP address is in the UK, you can stream great movies on the BBC website : their movies change regularly, with a mix between the old and the new.
If your IP address is in the France or Germany (and preferably if you speak French or German), check out the Arte website; it’s a public French-German TV channel where you can stream great programs.
If your IP address is in Belgium try auvio (same principle as Arte and the BBC).
If you have a Netflix account and you get tired of Casa de Papel, they closed an agreement with MK2 to add to their catalogue about 40 movies by great directors (they’re available in most countries but not everywhere):
- Jacques Demy (La baie des anges, Une chambre en ville, Les demoiselles de Rochefort, L’événement le plus important depuis que l’homme a marché sur la Lune, Lola, Les parapluies de Cherbourg, Parking, Peau d’âne, Le joueur de flûte);
- Michael Haneke (Code inconnu, La pianiste);
- Abdellatif Kechiche (Vénus noire);
- Krzysztof Kieslowski (Trois couleurs : Bleu, Trois couleurs : Blanc, Trois couleurs : Rouge);
- Emir Kusturica (Chat noir chat blanc);
- David Lynch (Eraserhead, Lost Highway, Twin Peaks : Fire Walk with Me);
- Alain Resnais (Mon oncle d’Amérique);
Every week, mk2 Curiosity puts 4 or 5 films online for free streaming; they’re sometimes a bit obscure but the ones I tried were quite good.
And, of course, you have many good movies on archive.org and youtube.com, but finding them can take a lot of time!
Let me know your suggestions and I will add them to this list!
